The First Electric Car Toyota bZ4X Released in Indonesia, Price Reach Rp 1B

Toyota bZ4X on the goToyota has officially released the first electric car, the bZ4X, in Indonesia. The launch in the country is the second for a country in Southeast Asia after Thailand. Deputy President Director of Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) Henry Tanoto said this model will be the opening of Toyota’s plans for electric vehicles in the future.

“Toyota will not stop here,” said Henry in Jakarta, Thursday (10/11/2022).

Toyota New Global Architecture

This car was designed using the e-TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. Dimensionally, the bZ4X has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, a length of 4,690 mm, a width of 1,860 mm and a height of 1,600 mm, while weighing only 2,195 kg.

In the car, there is an electric motor that drives the front wheels or Front Wheel Drive (FWD). The power generated reaches 204 HP and 266 Nm of torque.

Specification

Toyota claims this SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in 8.3 seconds and a mid-range acceleration of 48-90 km per hour in 2.9 seconds.

There is an ECO driving mode to save electricity and SNOW for driving on light off-road terrain.

This car uses a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 71.4 kWh which can be charged 80 percent in about 30 minutes with a 150 kW fast charging system using the CCS2 output DC charging system.

While a full charge using the AC output with a supply of 230 V/32 A will take 9-10 hours. If the battery is fully charged it can reach a distance of up to 500 km.

The battery is guaranteed for eight years or 160 thousand kilometers

Regarding features, this Japanese brand has embedded the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0 safety feature package. The Toyota model in the country that has used this feature before is the Voxy.

What About Price?

bZ4X PriceToyota is selling the BZ4X at a price of Rp. 1.19 billion on the road in Jakarta. For comparison, other electric cars sold domestically, namely the BMW i4 Rp. 2.06 billion and the BMW iX Rp. 2.33 billion, the Mini Electric Rp. 1.05 billion, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Rp. 748 million-Rp. 859 million and the Wuling Air EV Rp. 238 million-Rp. 311 million. .

“We hope that BZ4X will get support from all Indonesian people,” said TAM Marketing Director Anton Jimmy.
